Manuscript Topics

With the rapid growth of health and biomedical data, the processing of massive data utilizing advanced information technologies is of great need. Biomedical informatics has widely penetrated various research fields of biomedical science. It plays an increasingly important role in clinical application research, such as disease-related genes discovery, clinical diagnosis, individualized treatment of diseases, the discovery of new drug molecular targets, drug design, etc. The breakthrough progress of biomedical science in the future needs not only the efforts of biologists and physicians but also the intersection and combination of computer science, biology, and medicine. Therefore, this special issue will explore variously structured and unstructured bioinformatics data processing related to biomedical informatics and clinical applications, based on artificial intelligence and related computational techniques, and text mining and natural language processing for biomedical textual data. Relevant topics include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Bioinformatics
• Computational biology
• Health informatics
• Medical informatics
• Evolutionary bioinformatics
• Genome research
• Metagenomic research
• High-throughput sequencing technology
• High-throughput biodata management
• Emerging topics in bioinformatics
• Emerging issues in computational biology
• Drug discovery
• Clinical utility
• Clinical development
• Critical use of clinical information
• Data visualization

Keywords bioinformatics; biomedical science; clinical application; medical informatics.
